YES TCF Fundraiser

| Students from leading business school SZABIST, representing the Karachi Chapter, initiated a two-day fundraiser activity at a popular mall on October 25-26. They set up a colorful stall and put up TCF Banners, Literature, Donation Boxes and also played TCF Commercial throughout the two days. Young Enthusiastic Supporters marked a commendable success by raising enough funds to help stock two primary libraries in TCF purpose-built schools. |

TCF celebrates Global
Handwashing Day |
The UN General Assembly designated 2008 the International Year of Sanitation and for the first time ever on a worldwide scale a massive hand-washing campaign propelled a ‘Global Handwashing Day’ on October 15, 2008. In Pakistan, along with numerous leading schools participating in this international activity, TCF Primary Schools also took part in Global Handwashing Day thanks to TCF Supporter Unilever. This activity was held in over 300 TCF Primary school units where over 23,000 young students received soaps, stickers and certificates from Unilever teams. On October 15, 2008

Grants update

| Esteemed donors have pitched in to boost TCF Movement. TCF received generous grants from Western Union, JP Morgan, Citi Foundation, Credit Suisse and Target International. These amounts have been specifically allotted for supporting different school units and children’s education expenses. |

Winner for second consecutive year!

| TCF has been honored by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the second consecutive year as it has declared TCF Annual Report 2007 a winner in the Non-Governmental Organizations Category. SAFA bestows this award annually to its member states. These Awards under different categories are conferred on the basis of evaluation administered by SAFA’s Committee on Improvement, Transparency, Accountability and Governance of the published Annual Reports of entries from South Asian Countries. TCF has been bestowed with this international acclaim second time in a row as TCF Annual Report 2006 was also awarded in the NPO/NGO Category. |

Barclays joins TCF
Movement

International bank Barclays has joined TCF Movement and committed to support two TCF Schools in this academic year. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Barclays’ Head Office in Karachi on Friday, November 21, 2008. The MoU was signed by TCF Founding Director Mr. Mushtaq Chhapra and Barclays Country Manager Mohsin Nathani. Additionally, they are equipping one computer lab, 15 TCF Primary School libraries and 5 TCF Secondary School libraries in Karachi, Interior Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan. On their Community Day – October 25, 2008 – the Barclays Team took on a paint-a-school project held at TCF Primary School- Iskandar Sultan Khawaja Campus in rural area Uthal near Islamabad. Another set of 30 Barclays Volunteers took 60 children to a field trip to the Lahore Zoo. These students were I & II Graders from TCF Primary School – Qamar-uz-Zaman Campus, Burki.
