Code of Ethics

TCF aims to promote mass scale, quality formal education for less privileged children in an environment that encourages intellectual, moral and spiritual growth. TCF is pursuing its aims and goals in a responsible manner with honesty, integrity and transparency.

We are always mindful that our success stems from the circle of trust that has been built over the years. This includes the trust of our donors who contribute generously; trust of our committed teachers and staff who have dedicated themselves to the mission of promoting and imparting education to less privileged children; trust of our volunteers who spend a lot of their valuable time and energy to promote our cause; trust of the parents who put their children in our charge. We plan to work tirelessly to safeguard this trust. It is the very basis of our existence-a doctrine that guides all our actions.

The Directors, Managers and the Staff of TCF shall:

  • Act with integrity, competence, dignity and in an ethical manner when dealing with the government and its agencies, private and public institutions, public, donors, prospective donors, employers, employees and peers.
  • Remain focused to the fact that all our resources come from our generous donors and we should use these resources strictly in accordance with the mandate of TCF and wishes of the donors (efficiently and economically), avoiding wasteful expenditure. All directors, managers and staff are strongly discouraged from having personal interest in any contract for supply of goods and services to TCF. Directors, managers and staff are required to immediately report instances of any interest in contracts for goods and services. All such interests in contracts will be reviewed by the Audit Committee of TCF to ensure that they are totally above board.
  • Be expected not to solicit any favors or gifts from any party or institution with which they have a relationship on behalf of TCF. If any favor or gift is offered and accepted in circumstances where refusal would appear to be discourteous, details of such favor or gift received must be reported in accordance with the reporting procedure to be announced separately.
  • Remain committed to non discriminatory policies in the recruitment of TCF staff. Furthermore all of us will work towards promoting an environment of merit in the selection, remuneration and promotion of staff without regard to considerations of sex, race, religion, sect, ethnic or provincial origin. We will remain focused and vigilant to avoid and eliminate nepotism and cronyism within TCF.
  • Keep in mind that our education program is open to all persons and communities regardless of their sex, race, color, religion, ethnic or provincial origin.
  • Conduct ourselves as responsible members of society, observe all laws, express support of basic human rights and give proper regard to health, safety and environment. Be honest in all expressions verbally and in writing in all our dealings with the public and our stakeholders.
  • The directors, managers and staff shall observe and maintain the confidentiality of TCF's information and not misuse such information and TCF's assets. Conflicts of interest should be avoided and disclosed where they exist.

It will be the responsibility of the TCF Board of Directors to ensure that the above principles are complied with.
