In February, a multinational group comprising a dozen enthusiastic adventurers conquered the famous Jebel Qihwi to raise funds for the children of TCF. Jebel Qihwi, at a height of 1700m, is one of the highest mountains in Ras Al Khaimah's Hajjar mountain range.
TCF-UAE had a number of individuals and organisations expressing their support in helping promote TCF’s cause.

Pakistan to take a first-hand look at TCF’s reha-

in the areas. Mr. Raza Jafar, a Sharjah resident and long-term TCF supporter, pledged a huge amount towards the reconstruction and rehabilitation of a village in the earthquake-devastated areas. His generous donation will go towards building of 40 houses that comprise the village. Mr. Shahid Umerani, another TCF stalwart, donated a new school to TCF this quarter.
Saad Haroon, one of Pakistan’s most promising stand-up comedians, flew down to Dubai especially for an event held to raise funds for TCF. Organized by Hajra Haq and Taskeen Ahmed, the event proved to be a resounding success.
This year will prove to be one of TCF-UAE’s most exciting yet with a number of events scheduled, including the chapter’s gala supporter’s conference, the ever-popular, bi-annual Go-Karting races, a weekend trek in the mountains of Oman, an art exhibition, and a host of other fun activities.

Closing out 2006 with record-setting donations, TCF-USA continued to enhance its operations, communications and leadership development programs, with added momentum from outreach and fundraiser events coast-to-coast.
Events in March, started with a Pakistan Day celebration in Silicon Valley with renowned Pakistani popstar Alamgir. The memorable event was instrumental in creating valuable awareness for TCF’s cause in the local community.
A luncheon in Palo Alto recognized the contribution of individual, corporate and institutional donors. Julia Bergman, President of Central Asia Institute (CAI) thanked TCF-USA for a gift of text books. CAI schools in the mountainous Skardu-Baltistan region

The Laugh on Us - In the 3rd Annual FTCF Comedy Event held in March, over 350 guests enjoyed an evening with some of the finest performers in British comedy. Along with host Ian Stone, comedians Paul Tonkinson, Steve Hughes, Nick Wilty, Edward Aczel, Chris McCausland, Inder Manocha, Geoff Whiting, Dan Atkinson and Simon Amstell from Never Mind The Buzzcocks thoroughly entertained the audiences. |

Silent Water - A 3-day successful exhibition of soul-stirring stills from the photographic book on the earthquake in Pakistan was held by FTCF from April 30 to May 2, at the John Martin Gallery.
The images captivated people from all walks of life and generated much awareness about TCF. |
